Bankruptcy cases are public records and are available for viewing and/or printing via computers in the Clerk's Office. The charge to print documents is $ 0.10 per page. Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) provides case information and access to documents via the internet. Those with a PACER account can view, print, and/or save images of court documents using our Web PACER service. To register for PACER, go to www.pacer.uscourts.gov.

Copies of pre-ECF documents (those filed before October 4, 2004) which are on file in the Clerk’s Office are available for $ 0.50 per page.
Certified copies are available for $ 9.00 per certification and $ 0.50 per page. You may request copies by mail; however, a $ 26.00 search fee is required in additon to the $ 0.50 per page copy fee. Your written request must include the case name, case number, and the filing date and title of the specific document(s) which you wish to have copied and/or certified. In addition, please include your name, address, and daytime telephone number. (Note: the Clerk’s Office does not accept personal checks from debtors.)

Closed cases are kept at the Clerk's Offices for a limited amount of time. The closed cases are then shipped to the Federal Records Center in Ellenwood, GA (archives). The Clerk’s Office can provide you with the accession, location and box numbers you will need to order copies directly from the National Archives & Records Administration (NARA).

We maintain a database with all cases closed from the year 2000 to the present. This database does not include recent files which have been closed but have not been shipped to the National Archives holding area. To access the National Archives & Records Administration (NARA) system for this court, please visit our NARA System.

The Federal Records Center accepts copy requests from bankruptcy and adversary proceeding cases by mail or fax. If you prefer to have the case shipped from Ellenwood, GA to the Clerk's Office in Nashville to review, there is a $45.00 archive retrieval fee, plus any applicable copy fees. The archive order form may be found on our Archive Request Form page.
